News from New Shoreham
What happened, when, who's affected, and what's next — ferry changes, town decisions, shark sightings, openings and closings, and the occasional story that only makes sense if you know the island. No aggregation, no press-release reprints. Send tips to news@getblockisland.com.
What counts as news out here: anything that changes an islander's week or a visitor's plan. A fare increase is news. A kitchen changing hands is news. The fireworks fund coming up short is news — we covered it. A press release about a "reimagined guest experience" is not news, and you will not find it here. In season we publish as things happen; off-season the island slows down, and honestly, so does this page — that's not neglect, that's accuracy.
Corrections run at the bottom of the story they fix, per the editorial policy. Wry closers are permitted; inaccurate ones are not.
